6 Ways to Stay Calm When Event Day Stress Hits

We know how stressful and daunting daily tasks can be. Now, multiply that by 1000 when curating an event that you want to be impactful and unforgettable! Our best advice is to stay calm, control your reactions, and be flexible with your problem solving.

How, you say? Here are a 6 tips:

1.) Hire a planner! I know, we’re pitching ourselves. But seriously, we are experts in dealing with the small details you might miss. We also have established relationships with professional vendors which can help you choose the right event day team and ensure they show up as expected. Contact us to plan your next event!

We handle #2-6 for our clients, but keep reading if you don’t have a planner!

2.) Don’t rely too heavily on family, friends, or coworkers. This can strain relationships and cause unnecessary stress when event day hits. This isn’t their full-time job. Your favorite people are great at delegating individual tasks during the event.

3.) Follow your timeline. It’s important to keep every detail on the timeline. A tip we always say – a complete stranger should be able to pick up your timeline and know exactly what to do. During the planning process, it’s important to have shareable checklists with follow ups and current correspondence.

4.) Have a day of emergency kit! Check out our extended list here, but we highly recommend scissors, gaff tape, a sewing kit, stain remover, steamer, extra ink pens, and mints.

5.) Start a group chat – The text thread should include all of your event day contacts including vendors and day of staff to keep every one on the same page and maximize communication.

6.) Breathe! It’s easier said than done, but now is the time to enjoy the experience. All of the hard work has already been done. Remember, no one else will know if the cake is served 15 minutes late or if a speaker cancels last minute. The key is to stay calm, problem solve, and remain positive for your attendees!
