We love an excuse to throw a dinner party. What’s better than a few friends gathering for good times, games, and a delicious meal? Whether it’s a special celebration or an every Thursday hang, these four tips will make your dinner party stand out.
1.) Charcuterie is always a great idea. It provides color, contrast, allows you to sneak in all the veggies, and you can showcase some of your favorite brands. This is the perfect way for every one to grab a snack upon arrival!
2.) A stunning tablescape is the best way to set the tone. However, it doesn’t have to be extravagant or expensive. We love mixing patterns, taper candles, votives, and florals. Select a theme and build from there. Some of our go to inspirations include- boho, disco, all pink, and boot scootin’. After you select a theme, then you customize your palette and place settings.
3.) Assigned seats – We love having assigned seats because it allows people to come in and put their belongings down. As the host, you have the privilege of selecting where people sit. You can group your guests based on similar interests. One of our favorite assigned seats was Olivia’s baby shower where she had each person painted in a pastel watercolor by Laurel Ellsworth Designs.
4.) A favor guests actually want to take home and use. A few examples of these include a train whistle for the kids and essential oils from Melanie’s baby shower. Koozies for weddings are always a great idea, and custom cookies and luggage tags from Latitude’s Tootsie’s event. A special thank you note is always recommended by the Social Bliss Team, too!
All you really need are a few friends, delicious food, meaningful conversations, and intentional ideas. With these four tips, you’re ready to host your own dinner party soon. Let us know your favorite party of the dinner party in the comments!
