When Jen reached out ONE WEEK BEFORE HER BIRTHDAY with a party idea that combined her 39th birthday, a newly renovated home, and a cold case file, we knew it was going to be epic! From the moment guests arrived, every detail played into the theme, creating an unforgettable celebration that was part birthday party, part housewarming, and part crime scene.
Before anyone arrived, the Social Bliss team was busy transforming Jen’s home into the ultimate experience. Clues, evidence, and information needed to solve the mystery were carefully placed throughout the house. This set the stage for the investigation to come.
As guests arrived, Daisy officially checked them into the Del Fuego Rehab Center, the scene of the crime. Each guest received a hospital bracelet and had their mug shot taken before entering the investigation. To really set the tone, we brought in an actor from Goodness Gracious to serve as the evening’s investigator. James introduced the crime, laid out the rules, and made sure everyone knew exactly what they needed to solve the game.
After check in, the guests were greeted with passed appetizers from The Salted Table and bubbly from Hamilton Bartending. To kick off the investigation, everyone gathered for an espresso martini shot. What better way to begin a night of problem solving?
Clues were hidden throughout the house which gave everyone the opportunity to explore Jen’s home. Every room held another clue. As the night went on, guests collected evidence, compared theories, and tried to determine exactly who was responsible for Jane Doe’s demise.
Once all the clues had been collected, it was time to bring the evidence to the 39th District Court. Guests laid out their findings and the jury voted on who they believed committed the crime. Our investigator switched roles and took his place as judge to declare the final verdict.
Once the mystery was solved, the investigation turned into a full celebration. Everyone sang happy birthday and enjoyed two birthday cakes from Susie Cakes.
We saved the best for last. Attendees grabbed late night bites from In N Out and mini Cokes + Diet Cokes. Upon departure, guests filled their evidence bags with candy for a party favor. The courtroom doors closed and the dance floor opened.
From the first mug shot to the final guitar solo, Jen’s 39th birthday was anything but an ordinary housewarming. In one week, the Social Bliss Events Team delivered an epic celebration. Thanks to Savannah Lauren Photo for capturing the night, Quest Events for the rentals, and Big Frog for the custom Del Fuego Rehab shirts that brought the theme together. The case was closed in style.
