Engagement Season : Pro Tips for a Memorable Moment

You’ve dated for awhile, are aligned in beliefs, see a future together, and you’ve secured a special ring… then analysis paralysis hits because you want it to be perfect. Don’t stress, after a decade of proposals we’ve got a few tips to make sure yours is meaningful.

1.) Plan When + Where : Do you have any upcoming monumental moments like a birthday, trip, special date or occasion? Do you have any special to you both places – first or common date spots, your favorite trip together, or a bucket list item. Once you have your location make sure there will be light if it’s outside and contact any managers/coordinators to let them know in case there are special events that will prevent your proposal and to have support when you arrive.

2.) How can you make this a special time for the two of you – Do you want to have friends and family nearby for a celebration? Do you want to go to an intimate dinner just the two of you? How about a waltz down the street hand-in-hand? Decide what/who else you want to add to the proposal – friends, champagne, family, your dog, a picnic…The options are endless so make it personal to YOUR love.

3.) Hire a photographer – You’ll be full of nerves and don’t want to forget or miss this special moment.

4.) Make sure the bride feels and looks her best, coordinate with her besties, get their nails done, and pack an outfit she loves. It’s always a plus if she can have her nails done. Pick out a nice outfit for yourself too and don’t forget to groom.

5.) Keep the number of people who know to a minimum. The more people you tell, the more likely the cat will be let out of the bag. Our biggest tip – turn OFF any shared location tracking. Your iPhone, Apple Watch, and any other apps that share locations.

6.) Embrace the moment. You did it! You pulled off the biggest surprise – EVER! Now it’s time to plan a wedding!
