3 BIG Lessons from a Decade of Experience

By the smiles on this couples’ faces you would have no idea the weather shifted 10 minutes before their outdoor wedding… forcing 85 guests indoors for a living room ceremony with family standing on stairs (which worked out well for viewing honestly), mud to be trampled through the victorian home, and cars to be literally stuck in the yard blocking guests from leaving, but guess what? It was a glorious event and celebration no one will ever forget! This week we are sharing 3 huge ways to prepare and remain encouraged on your special event day:

1.) Something will go wrong. PERIOD, in case you missed it (.) Here’s another fun example… at Josh and Olivia’s wedding reception, a downtown Nashville transformer blew cutting off an entire power grid that ran blocks leaving even the street lights dark. What do you do?

2.) BE SOLUTION FOCUSED. We had candles, pulled a speaker out of the car put it in a bucket, asked the bartender to pour a round of shots, and kept the party going lit by the camera flash!

3.) Your guests will have never know anything went wrong. Here’s the thing to remember, guests do not know what is actually supposed to happen and when except for you. If you don’t serve the cake right at 8, no one will be upset that theirs is received at 8:05. In the power case, your guests are there to celebrate you, so don’t let things out of any one’s control ruin your party, keep breathing and dancing.

A fun and positive attitude is always best!
