We absolutely loved bringing Corner to Corner‘s vision to life for their 100th graduation celebration ceremony. It was a monumental evening as the 1000th program graduate walked (actually danced) across the stage. Corner to Corner represents and co-creates economic participation and growth with underestimated Nashvillians through knowledge, tools, and networks. They are a team of 19, based in Nashville, tackling economic inequity from its roots: through early opportunities for young creators and by working with early-stage entrepreneurs. Their slogan is : This isn’t about ‘us’ or ‘them.’ We believe it’s ‘we.’
They provide a variety of options on ways to improve and grow your business, like the Academy and the Script to Screen creative after school program that focuses on helping kids fall in love with reading through their love of movies.
The Academy is a 10-week program that equips community members with the skills they need to plan, start, and grow their own small businesses. The Academy helps neighbors create a sustainable economic engine for their families and community. In an effort to remove many of the typical barriers to entrepreneurial training, The Academy is offered in a variety of locations – all within walking distance of governmental housing projects. The program is intentionally affordable. Students are only required to cover the cost of their curriculum workbook.
The fabulous evening was hosted at Municipal Auditorium. The pre-party kicked off with a fun and interactive vendor village. A variety of past graduates provided drinks, desserts, experiences, and products. Corner to Corner was intentional in having a wide variety of vendors for graduation. See the full list below.
Upon arrival at the auditorium, food trucks lined the street and provided delicious bites for all attendees!
After the vendors closed and the food trucks rolled out, we invited all attendees to grab a seat! The energy in the auditorium was palpable.
Having over 1000 people graduate from your organization is a huge accomplishment. However, the most inspirational part was the way they took time to celebrate each and every individual who walked across the stage. Every candidate showcased their style and flair!
After the graduates walked the stage, the party wasn’t over. The Pitch Presentation offered 10 small business owners the opportunity to share their business to a panel of judges for a chance to win a cash prize to help them further their dreams.
We look forward to celebrating many more graduates with Corner to Corner in the future.
